Who we are

Ambadnya OTT (“Ambadnya OTT”, “we”, “us” or “our”) is an Indian over-the-top (OTT) video streaming service, operated from India for viewers in India. Our registered office is at 25, Ambedkar Nagar, New Mill Road, Behind Ghadge Maharaj School, Kurla West, Mumbai - 400070, Maharashtra, India. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect from you, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and the rights you have over it.

We handle your personal data in accordance with the laws of India, including the Information Technology Act, 2000, the rules made under it, and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

What information do we collect?

We collect the information you give us when you create an account, buy or renew a subscription, rent a title, contact our support team, or fill in a form on our website or app. Depending on what you do, this may include your name, email address, mobile number, city, state, postal code and address.

We also collect limited technical information automatically so that playback, security and recommendations work correctly — your device model, operating system, app version, IP address, approximate location derived from that IP address, and your viewing and search activity on the platform. You may browse parts of our website without creating an account.

How do we use your information?

We use your information to create and manage your account; to give you access to the titles you have subscribed to or rented; to process payments in Indian Rupees and issue receipts and invoices; to send you transactional messages such as one-time passwords, payment confirmations and plan expiry reminders; to answer your support requests; to recommend titles you may like; to detect and prevent fraud, piracy and misuse of the service; and to meet our obligations under Indian law.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it to build advertising profiles for other companies.

Payments and card details

Subscription and rental payments are charged in Indian Rupees (INR) and are processed by our payment gateway partner, Cashfree Payments India Private Limited, an authorised payment aggregator regulated by the Reserve Bank of India.

Your card number, UPI ID, net-banking credentials and wallet details are entered on the payment gateway’s own secure, PCI-DSS compliant page. Those details are never sent to, seen by, or stored on our servers. We keep only what we need for accounting, refunds and support: the order reference, the amount, the payment status and the date.

Your data stays in India

Ambadnya OTT is an Indian service and your personal data stays in India. Your account details, your subscription and rental records, your payment references and your correspondence with our support team are stored and processed on servers located in India, and we do not transfer them outside India.

The only information that necessarily leaves this arrangement is the device token and the text of a push notification, which must pass through the notification service operated by Google for Android devices or Apple for iOS devices — there is no other route by which any mobile application can reach a phone. No account record, payment record or viewing history is sent to those services.

Do we share your information with anyone else?

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data.

We share it only with the service providers who help us run the platform — our payment gateway, our SMS and email providers, our hosting and content-delivery providers — and only to the extent each one needs it to do its work for us, under confidentiality obligations.

We may also disclose information where we are required to do so by Indian law, by an order of a court or tribunal, or by a lawful request from a government or law-enforcement agency, and where disclosure is necessary to enforce our Terms and Conditions or to protect the rights, property or safety of Ambadnya OTT, our users or the public.

Children and young users

Ambadnya OTT is intended for users aged 18 years and above. A person below the age of 18 may use the service only through an account created and supervised by a parent or legal guardian.

Where we knowingly process the personal data of a child, we do so only with the verifiable consent of the parent or legal guardian, as required by the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. We do not use a child’s personal data for tracking, behavioural monitoring or targeted advertising. If you believe a child has given us personal data without such consent, write to us and we will delete it.

Your rights over your data

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you may ask us for a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how we process it; ask us to correct or complete inaccurate or incomplete data; ask us to erase data that we no longer need; withdraw a consent you have previously given; and nominate another person to exercise these rights on your behalf if you are unable to do so.

To exercise any of these rights, write to us at ambadnyaottservices@gmail.com from your registered email address. We will verify your identity and respond within the timelines prescribed under Indian law. Withdrawing consent that is necessary to run your account may mean we can no longer provide the service to you.

How long do we keep your information?

We keep your account data for as long as your account remains active. If you close your account or withdraw your consent, we delete or anonymise your personal data, except for the records we are required to keep under Indian tax, accounting, company and information-technology law — principally transaction and invoice records, which we retain for the period prescribed by those laws.
